Karat and fineness
Karat measures gold content in 24ths: 18K is 18 parts gold out of 24, or 75%. Fineness gives the same thing in parts per thousand, which is what you see stamped on the piece: 750 for 18K, 585 for 14K, 916 for 22K.
Thai gold
In Thailand, the standard for gold jewellery and bars is 96.5% gold, about 23.2K. It is traded by the baht weight rather than by the gram.
Hallmarking rules differ between countries. Check the law of the market you sell into before stamping.
