Made by the trade

JewelLoop was founded, and is run, by people who earn their living in gems and jewellery. We know the small daily problems: a ring size to convert for a customer abroad, a fair's real dates to find before booking flights, a laboratory to find in a new city, a rule that changed without anyone saying so. This site is what we wished we had.

What you will find here

• Know-how: guides to gems, metals, treatments and the business side of the trade, written for people at the bench, the counter and the sorting table.
• Tools: calculators and converters for everyday work, free and without sign-up.
• Reference: metal prices, a fair calendar and directories of laboratories, associations, schools and gem markets.
• News: headlines from the trade press, kept balanced between sources, and short notes of our own when a rule or standard changes.

How we check what we publish

We would rather be slow than wrong. Every guide and tool is checked against named professional sources (laboratories, assay offices, CIBJO, national standards) and lists them at the end. Formulas and tables live in one place, so a tool and the guide that explains it always agree. Our software watches fair websites and official rule pages every week; when something changes, a person reads it before the site changes. If you spot a mistake, tell us and we will fix it and say so on the page.

A neutral platform

We do not sell placement. Directories list institutions and places, in alphabetical order, never ranked or recommended. No member, company or partner gets special treatment. From December 2026, every member is reviewed and approved by a moderator; approval means a moderator reviewed the application, and members always make their own checks before doing business.
